Welcome

Welcome to our new King Edwin Park Neighbourhood Watch scheme!

Aims

We are keen to make our neighbourhood an even safer and friendlier place by encouraging everyone to look out for one another. Our local scheme will be designed to help people stay alert, support each other, and work together to keep our streets and homes safe. We hope it will build trust and strong connections if lots of residents join in, helping to make our estate an even more pleasant place to live.

What if I see something shifty?

North Yorkshire Police held a drop-in session on the estate a while ago. They handed out these cards. The QR code it mentions leads you to: https://www.northyorkshire.police.uk/ro/report/ (new tab opens).

Remember that if you see something suspicious, you should report it to the police by calling 101 or by completing their online form – do not assume that someone else has already done this or will do it. In an emergency you should always call 999.

What can I do to help?

Please join our KEP Watch scheme. This is what you need to do.

(1) Click on this link: https://www.ourwatch.org.uk/scheme/185492/kep-watch

(2) Scroll down the page and look for these buttons:

(3) If you are already a member of Neighbourhood Watch, click on the left-hand button and follow the instructions. If you are not a member of Neighbourhood Watch yet, click on the middle button to join it first, then come back.

Make sure you are joining KEP Watch (000185492).

You’ll not only help to deter crime but also build a supportive network with your neighbours on the estate. Please get involved today and make a positive difference in the community.

Add this website, kepwatch.org.uk, to your browser bookmarks because we will update it regularly.

What else could I do?

To be successful, this Neighbourhood Watch scheme will also need volunteers, so we’d be delighted to have you involved. Even if you can only spare a little time now and again, it would be great to have you on board. If this sounds like you, please:

Email us at:

hello@kepwatch.org.uk

or send us a message using the Contact form

We’re unlikely to get another chance or a better chance to get something like this to work.

What is happening next?

Killinghall Parish Council has donated nearly £300 worth of really useful Neighbourhood Watch materials to help get our scheme off to a flying start. The first delivery of a Join Us postcard and a Crime Prevention Booklet has already happened. The second delivery will include a leaflet and a window sticker. They are not intended to be junk mail – please don’t just chuck them into the recycling bag without studying them! We’re intending to put up lamp post signs too.
